The Stone Tavern has officially closed, bringing an end to almost six years of live music, art and comedy at the East Main Street venue. The closure was reflected on Yelp as of Tuesday.

Only days before the closure, a thief made off with a box of new vinyl records, though they were later returned, according to a post by the Stone Tavern page on Facebook.

“No problems with theft really until before the last day,” the post stated.

Owner Louis Delbene said it was “not a good day” to discuss the closure in more depth, but said the venue will be open to sharing more details in the coming weeks.

There are no details as to whether the venue will be reopened in the near future.
