Preparing for the Ohio primaries, voter registration deadline approaches
February 15, 2016
Tuesday, February 16, is the last day to register to vote for the Ohio primaries and there are some requirements you have to meet if you plan on voting.
Some of these requirements include a valid photo ID, and proof of residency at least 30 days immediately before the election.
Your voter registration form must be postmarked by February 16 to meet that 30 day requirement.
To prove you are an Ohio resident you must also provide a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or government check that shows your name and current address.
If you are an out of state college student, you are able to register to vote in Ohio as long as you are currently residing here and can provide an Ohio address.
If you are still in need of a voter registration form you can pick one up at any county board of elections office, any public high school, all public libraries or online at US Vote Foundation.
For Portage County residents, you can also visit the Portage County Board of Elections website.
