Wick Poetry Center offering $1000 scholarship through Honors College
February 25, 2016
The Wick Poetry Center will offer a $1,000 scholarship award in March to be used in the 2016 fall semester for students in the Honors College.
The scholarship is to be awarded to the best poem and each applicant may only submit one.
“It’s a nice opportunity for any honors student,” said Carolyn Sampson, coordinator of scholarships at the Honors College.
Sampson also spoke about how the poetry center has a small committee of readers who will read each application and make the decision for the scholarship recipient.
The scholarship application asks that the submitted poem be typed on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, be no more than 100 lines long and have four copies of the poem submitted. The application can be found online.
Application submissions are due Tuesday, March 1.
