The Kent State men’s basketball team suffered a loss at Ohio University Friday night and suffered another loss today.
Senior guard Xavier Pollard will undergo season ending surgery tomorrow to repair a fractured foot. Pollard was contributing over 12 points a game in twenty-one games for the Flashes this season. Kent will now have to rely heavily on a young back-court to pick up the scoring in Pollard’s absence.
The Kent State women’s basketball team also played this weekend. The flashes took on Western Michigan in an attempt to turn a disappointing season in the right direction.
Browns fans have started a movement on Twitter called “Johnny Free February” or hashtag JFF. The goal is for fans to not tweet, retweet, or mention Johnny Manziel on Twitter for all of February or until Manziel is no longer a Cleveland Brown. This movement comes after Manziel’s most recent run-in with the law in Fort Worth, Texas when police were called to investigate a domestic incident between Manziel and his girlfriend.
Finally, the Cavaliers look to continue their winning ways tonight under coach Tyronn Lue when they take on the Indiana Pacers at 7 PM.
Although the Cavs are trying to speed up the tempo on offense, LeBron James said this morning that the Cavs’ focus is still to get stops on the defensive end. They’ll have their hands full tonight trying to slow down Paul George and the Pacers’ small-ball lineup.
