After months of searching, the committee for a new director for the School of Communication Studies has selected four final candidates to give presentations explaining their vision for the school over the next two weeks. 

“I’m excited to hear the ideas the candidates have for ways we will enhance the learning experience for all of our communication studies students, and how each candidate might lead this really wonderful program,” said Amy Reynolds, dean of the College of Communication and Information.

The candidates presenting their ideas this week include Elizabeth Graham, Ph.D., on Monday, and Matthew Smith, Ph.D., on Thursday.

Concluding the series of presentations will be Lawrence Mullen, Ph.D., who will present Monday, Feb. 1 and Thomas Flynn, Ph.D., who will present Thursday, Feb. 4.

Graduate students, faculty and staff are invited to hear the presentations in the University Library, room 332 at 10:30 a.m. on presentation days. At 3 p.m. all candidates will be available in room 129 of Taylor Hall to meet with graduate and undergraduate students in order to hear feedback.

“We’re looking for a director who will provide leadership and vision, as well as someone who can build on the many successes of the school,” Reynolds said.

 A final decision will be made after all candidates have completed their campus visits.
