There’s only one word that comes to mind when describing Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, better known as Future, at his concert Saturday night in the M.A.C. Center: sensational.

From the moment DJ Esco, Future’s personal DJ, hit the stage, the M.A.C. was loud and full of energy. After a five-minute “pre-game session,” as Esco put it, Future finally hit the stage and everyone in attendance was on their feet.

For the next 90 minutes students sang along to hit after hit, such as Billboard Hot 100 12th-ranked “Jumpman.”

The biggest moment of the night came during the performance of his song, “March Madness.” Students lit up the darkened M.A.C. with their cell phones as Future sang.

The Atlanta native is coming off one of the best years of his career, after releasing a joint mixtape in September of last year with rapper Drake, titled “What a Time to Be Alive.”

Future’s latest mixtape, “Purple Reign,” was released on Jan 17.

Former Kent State student Ezzy, along with rapper Kid Ink, opened for Future.
