Warren to deliver first State of the University address
November 18, 2015
Kent State president Beverly Warren will present a speech entitled, “Celebrating Today, Imagining Tomorrow,” at her first State of the University Address.
It will take place in the Student Center Kiva on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m.
Former president Lester Lefton delivered annual State of the University Addresses. Warren said she wanted to bring the tradition back, because it’s a chance to recap the university’s achievements and share her new ideas with the community.
“As we approach the season of giving thanks, I remain deeply grateful, truly proud and enormously excited to be part of the most gifted and giving community I know,” Warren said in a university statement. “In that spirit, I invite you to join me as I give my first State of the University Address. It will be an opportunity for us to look back and celebrate our community’s many accomplishments, and to look forward to reaching even greater heights as we imagine a bold, brilliant and purpose-driven future.”
Kent students are invited to attend the speech. Regional campuses will host watch parties for their students.
A reception will follow the speech in room 206 of the Student Center.
