Evan Bailey, a.k.a. Evan Evolution, may be an assistant professor at Kent State, but he’s also been a well-respected DJ for more than a decade. Bailey said it was a surprise to be voted number one as best DJ.

“It feels great,” Bailey said. “It’s an honor to be selected by the readers.”

Bailey started playing music in the fifth grade and found it to be a lifelong interest and love. As he started DJing in college, it was exactly what he was looking for.

His DJing style ranges from house music and techno to indie dance. Bailey said he really enjoys playing events for the university like BlastOff and FlashFest.

“They’re pretty good crowds and can introduce your music to people who haven’t heard it before,” Bailey said.
