Kent State women’s track ends what was a four-meet weekend where they competed at the Drake Relays, Hillsdale Gina Relays, Kip Janvrin Open and the Ashland Alumni Open. The Flashes were once again able to break a school record, breaking the 1600-meter sprint medley relay time of 3:57.61 during the Drake Relays.

Drake Relays

The Flashes 1600-meter sprint medley relay team of senior Kaila Gardner, sophomores Jorian Ordway and Lauren Burnett, and freshman Tyler Williams broke the previous Kent State record of 3:57.97 to place ninth out of 24 teams that ran the event.

Sophomore Morgan Estes placed fourth in the pole vault with a height of 4.05 meters. The height was Estes’ personal-best ranks second all-time in Kent State history.

Freshman Sam Tollerud placed 15^th with a best jump of 3.90 meters.

Junior Dior Delophont placed 10^th out of 226 people in the triple jump with a mark of 12.19 meters.

Hillsdale Gina Relays

Senior Tabitha Jacofsky along with juniors Hannah Fleck and Kristen Bergmeyer all placed this weekend in the 800-meter run.

Jacofsky came in sixth (2:10.70), Fleck placed seventh (2:10.93) and Bergmeyer finished 20^th (2:15.94).

Kip Janvrin Open

Freshman Arbria Williams placed third in the 100-meter hurdles Friday with a time of 14.65. Williams also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.50.

Senior Kaila Gardner placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.62, and her time of 25.20 placed third in the 200-meter dash.

Redshirt junior Rebecca Herte and senior Tori Meyer both finished tied for third in the pole vault with a best height of 3.50 meters.

Ashland Alumni Open

Junior Danniel Thomas placed second in the discus throw with a mark of 51.11 meters.

Freshman Rebecca Leppelmeier and redshirt sophomore Ada Nicholson-Burley placed fifth and sixth respectively. Leppelmeier’s best mark was 44.22 meters, and Nicholson-Burley’s was 43.88 meters.

The Flashes will travel to Columbus next weekend to compete in the Jesse Owens Classic at the Ohio State University on Friday and Saturday.
