Kent State’s second annual “I (Heart) Travel Week” will take place in the Student Center and Nest Feb. 9 to 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The week is filled with activities, food and raffles centered on study abroad trips and overall global awareness for students.  Each day will focus on a different country or area of the world such as Africa, the Middle East, Asia, South America and the Caribbean and Europe.

“I (Heart) Travel Week” will present the Interhall Council’s “Celebrations of Nations” in the Student Center Ballroom Feb. 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. This event is presented to expand knowledge of cultural communities and inspire students to learn more.

“We’re trying to expand our global footprint so the event is designed to educate students about different countries, cultures and see past what they see everyday,” said Megan Corder, Kent Interhall Council’s director of student relations.

Events during the week include African Dance Tribe on Feb. 9 from 12:30 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., Indian Henna on Feb. 10 from 1:35-1:55 p.m., Entertainment from SLASA (Spanish Latin American Student Association) Feb. 11 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. and “Survival Language Series: Learn Useful Phrases in Italian” with Kristin Stasiowski Feb. 12 from 12:30 to 12:50p.m.
