The Flashes traveled to Athens, Ohio Saturday night to take on the top team in the Mid-American Conference, the Ohio Bobcats.

Kent State (3-18, 1-9 MAC) went toe-to-toe with the Bobcats all game long. The Flashes came out firing in the first half, shooting 48 percent from the field.  The hot shooting helped give the team a two-point lead going into the half, at 25-23.

When play resumed in the second half, the Flashes weren’t able to keep the same efficiency from the field.  A pivotal 12-0 run by the Bobcats with ten minutes remaining proved to be the turning point in the game, as the Flashes went outscored 35-19.

Kent State would go on to drop the game, 58-44.

Redshirt junior guard Melanee Stubbs led all scorers on the Flashes with 12 points, and redshirt senior center CiCi Shannon added in 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Flashes will play host to Miami University (OH) this Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the M.A.C. Center.
