Modista Minority Fashion Group will be hosting a styling competition, “Battle of the Orgs.” on Friday, Nov. 14 in the Rockwell Hall auditorium at 7 p.m. as a part of Black Homecoming.

Members of the Center for Pan-African Culture student organizations were invited to see who has the best style. The four organizations participating in the event include Black United Students, Exquisite Inc. Modeling Troupe, Golden Reflections and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.

“(These organizations will) create three on-the-spot looks that represent trends forecasted for 2015, including street style, school spirit and business attire,” said Jowan Cole, a senior applied communications major and vice president of Modista.

The Modista executive board will choose the winner.

“Styling is one of the most challenging sectors of fashion,” Cole said. “But it is a fun way of expressing who you are.”
