Senior field hockey player Hannah Faulkner was named Mid American Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after her outstanding weekend.

In her final two regular season home games, Faulkner made every minute count. In the two games against Ball State University and Longwood University, Faulkner registered a combined five goals and 10 points.

Faulkner credited her teammates for her success on the field this past weekend.

“I’m really connecting with my other strikers and midfielders around me,” Faulkner said. “I’m just being confident when I’m in the circle.”

Faulkner has scored in eight straight games, which ties the longest scoring streak in program history. She now ranks fifth in the country in goals per game and sixth in points per game.

Once this season is over for Faulkner and the Flashes, her career will not come to a close just yet. Faulkner was invited to join the roster for the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior game set to take place Saturday, Nov. 22, at the University of Maryland.

“I’m super excited because it means my field hockey career isn’t over immediately,” Faulkner said. “It just means a lot that the past four years are all coming together.”

Faulkner and team will begin a two-game road trip as they take on Central Michigan University and Northwestern University this weekend. The Flashes can claim an outright MAC regular season championship with a win against the Chippewas this Saturday.
