The three Kent State employees who are self-monitoring at home after potential Ebola virus exposure are not faculty members and do not work in food service. 

While not naming them, Kent State spokesman Eric Mansfield said in an email Thursday the three staff members are not faculty members and are not in classrooms. He also said none work in dining services, residence halls, custodial positions, recreational services or health services.

The university previously would not provide specific information about the three employees who had contact with Ebola virus patient Amber Joy Vinson.

Mansfield said in the email that after learning of Vinson’s illness, all three departed campus early Tuesday afternoon.

The three employees have been asked to stay away from campus for 21 days and to self-monitor per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation.
