KSU cross country Pre –Nationals

The Kent State’s cross country team competed in the Pre-National Invitational Saturday, Oct. 18, in Terre Haute, Indiana at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
The women’s team tied for 21st out of 33 teams in the White 6k race with a total team time of 1:56:48.10 with 485 points.
The men’s team finished in 18th place out of 28 teams with 401 points and a time of 2:11:59.8 on the longer 8k course.

Kelsey McAlpine led the women’s squad with a 16th-place finish, out of the 213 runners, posting a time of 22:07.3. McAlpine’s teammate, junior Rachel Slingluff, follow close behindin the top 25 and took 23rd with a time of 22:15.5.
Matt Kahl claimed the top spot for the Flashes,as he was the only male to break the top 25 with a 13th-place finish in a time of 25:23.7.
Washington State won the women’s White Race with a total of 143 points, and Indiana won the men’s White Race with 164 total points.
Kent State will run again Saturday, Nov. 1st when they travel to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to take part in the Mid-American Conference Championships, hosted by Central Michigan.
