Alumni Listening Tour
July 29, 2014
President Beverly Warren’s alumni Listening Tour kicked off on July 23 with its first stop in Akron, Ohio. This six month Listening Tour will consist of more than 50 different events.
“To chart the course for the future of this university I must first listen and learn from those of you who have a passion and a desire to see this university’s best future,” said President Warren in her address to the Faculty Senate at its July meeting.
Kent State University cannot rest on the status quo of what universities are expected to be, Warren said. Kent State needs young leaders, new knowledge and new ways of thinking. President Warren said she wants to take what she learns and make it an active process.
“Active listening is the best way to lead,” she said. “I don’t lead from the front, but I lead from the masses and I need you to come along with me.”
