Nearly 700 people, along with the Muslim Brotherhood’s spiritual leader were sentenced to death Monday for their participation in last year’s post-coup violence, the mass trial intended to send a message from Egypt’s leadership that opposition will not be tolerated.

The Obama administration is taking steps to measure the magnitude of sexual assaults in college campuses. A White House task force will release a report Tuesday that recommends schools identify “trained, confidential victim’s advocates” and conduct surveys to better estimate the frequency of campus assaults.
