Amassive rush-hour bomb blast at a bus station killed at least 72 people and injured 164 in Nigeria on Monday. This was the deadliest attack on the nation’s capital, and officials suspect Islamic militants were responsible.
Authorities say retired trucker with the Ku Klux Klan, Frazier Glenn Cross, opened fire with a shotgun and pistol outside a Jewish community center and retirement complex near Kansas City Sunday. The 73-year-old later shouted a Nazi slogan at television cameras while being arrested. (Read full story here).
Tuesday marks a deadline for most taxpayers, but for those who are due a refund the day doesn’t mean much. The International Revenue Service doesn’t say much about it, but penalties for filing late federal tax returns apply only to those who owe money.
Megan Huntsman, of Utah, told police Sunday that she either strangled or suffocated six of her newborn babies. Huntsman’s estranged husband, Darren West, discovered the bodies Saturday while cleaning out the family garage, which was owned by his parents. Huntsman is being held on a $6 million bail — $1 million for each baby. (Read full story here).
