A virus has killed millions of baby pigs in less than year by a virus that has never been seen before in the U.S. Little is known about how to stop it or how it spreads, but it is putting pork production at risk and pushing prices down 10 percent. Search crews in the Indian Ocean have failed to pick up faint underwater sounds that might be from the missing Malaysian jetliner’s black boxes, whose batteries are at the end of their life. The way the missing Malaysia Airlines plane hit the Indian Ocean makes a huge difference to the teams that are searching for the wreckage.

House Republicans will be voting this week to pass Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget that is in favor of big spending cuts across major programs. Some of these programs include Medicaid, Amtrak, airline flights to small towns and food and farm aid. Ukraine is moving to stop pro-Russian uprisings along the Russian border. They have retaken one of the occupied regional headquarters and are watching protesters fortify their hold on the other. At a third headquarter, security services said protestors have taken 60 people hostage and are threatening them with weapons. The U.S. and Ukraine have accused Russia for the unrest in the country.
