On Monday, Judge Col. James Pohl refused to dismiss charges against Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair after reviewing newly disclosed emails. The judge said the military might have improperly moved forward with a trial to send a message about its determination to curb rape and other misconduct.

Colorado officials reported Monday that the state made roughly $2 million in marijuana taxes in the month of January. This is the first accounting of the recreational business. The Department of Revenue reveals $14 million worth of recreational marijuana has been sold from 59 businesses during the first month of sales.

National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden spoke via live video conference at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival.  Snowden said he has no regrets about revealing the agency’s mass surveillance program. He currently resides in Moscow and is living in temporary asylum.

Professor Gert Saayman performed the autopsy on the girlfriend of Oscar Pistorius and relayed such graphic details in Monday’s trial that the information was not broadcast or reported live under an order from Judge Thokozile Masipa. As a result of the information, Pistorius was found vomiting into a bucket.
