BSR Beats: Week 6
February 19, 2014
“Illusion” by VERSAIt finally happened. VERSA (formally VerseEmerge) released their first piece of musical genius since 2010. A lot has changed since they last released any music in album or EP form, including their sound, but not to fret! With mystical beats, eerily creepy lyrics and rock undertones, you’ll be left wanting more. |

“Cool Kids” by Echosmoth”This song isn’t new, but I’m placing bets that Echosmith is the next big thing in the indie world. The lyrics might take you back to some darker middle school days, but the sound of Echosmith is very now. Love ‘em? Make sure to catch them on Vans Warped Tour this year! |

“Shot Me Down” by David Guetta Ft. Skylar GreyEveryone knows that David Guetta has a way of making people dance, but when the beat in “Shot Me Down” drops at the two-minute mark, you simply will not be able to sit still. It’s the perfect soundtrack to your Saturday night — or the perfect pick-me-up for a lackluster Monday. |

“Happy” by Pharrell WilliamsBasically, there’s no way to be unhappy when this song. Come on, even if you’ve had the worst day. Be warned — if you have not heard “Happy” yet, it will most definitely be stuck in your head for days after you take a listen. Make sure to check out the sweet 24-hour music video that goes with “Happy” at 24hoursofhappy.com! |

“Suspension” by LIGHTSI thought to myself, “I wonder if Lights has put out anything new recently?” Then it occurred to me, she did. Rocket Wild Bokan was born this past Saturday, Feb. 15. Not to worry though, neither Lights nor her hubby, Blessthefall frontman Beau Bokan, plan to stop their musical journeys anytime soon. According to her Tumblr page, Lights has her third album in the works. |
