Protests in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev continued Thursday after a truce was broken between protesters and the Ukrainian army. At least 70 people were reportedly killed in the deadliest day in Ukraine in more than 25 years, bringing the week’s death toll to at least 101. The conflict stems from those who support President Viktor Yanukovych and his central government and those who oppose it. Read full story here.

At least six people were killed and more than 100 injured in protests in Venezuela this week. Demonstrations started by peaceful protestors have turned into violent anti-government protests in the past few days. The Venezuelan government has taken to nighttime sweeps of areas for protestors, causing even more damage and destruction.
