New Robek’s looks to bring healthy habits

A new Robek’s smoothie shop in Kent looks to bring healthy habits to the community. Its recent partnership with One Love Yoga and Boutique features a new attraction of healthy exercise and drinks.
“Our goal is to reach the community and give alternatives to fast food that many people like these days,” said Anne Randles, owner of the Robek’s in Kent and in Stow. “It is a good fit with yoga, then healthy smoothies to follow.”
Randles said Tim Huth, co-owner of One Love Yoga, saw the idea when he was in Rochester, N.Y., and contacted Robek’s corporate offices to talk about bringing the idea to Northeast Ohio. Randles said One Love Yoga’s goal is to improve the overall health of the people who visit the yoga studio — sharing that mission with the studio.
“We use natural ingredients that promote nutrition,” Randles said. She said this helps the customer to drink completely healthy items.
The Robek’s location is the first in a non-traditional place for the area because it shares the first floor of the building with the yoga studio at 295 S. Water Street. Its hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
