Checkers-N-Trophies, a Kent music venue and bar, was left to burn after a structure fire was reported to the Kent City Police Department Monday night. Kent Police said the fire started in the basement.
Checkers-N-Trophies, located at 352 W. Elm St., hosted Cleveland band Crossface at the venue Sunday.
Police said the cause of the fire is unknown. Kent city departments and other city departments yielded no further information. The Rootstown Township Fire Department said a full report will be released Tuesday with more details.
