Iris Harvey, vice president for university relations, was chosen to participate in the U.S.-France International Education Administrators Seminar with an award from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

According to a Kent State press release, Harvey, who has been with the university since 2008, will spend three weeks in France in October with 11 other administrators visiting 12 universities, meeting with French and European officials and attending events with industry and U.S. Embassy representatives.

“It’s a great honor to receive a Fulbright grant, and I am appreciative of Kent State’s support of this recognition,” Harvey said in the press release. “In addition to the incredible opportunity to dialogue with officials from a dozen universities in France, I am also excited about meeting and learning about how my counterparts at these institutions are developing public-private partnerships and helping to transform their regional economies. That’s something extra I can bring back to Northeast Ohio.”

The Fulbright International Education Administrators seminars have given administrators the opportunity to gain knowledge about the host country’s higher education system as well as establish networks of U.S. and international colleagues for more than 60 years. The scholarship board is made up of 12 members appointed by the President of the United States.
