LGBTQ Center Sponsors open mike night
March 31, 2013
Kent State University students will have the opportunity to participate in Queer Voices Wednesday, April 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kiva.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Center is sponsoring the event, which is a performance-based open mike night. Roxie Patton, program coordinator for the LGBTQ Center, helped organize the event.
“The Queer Voices series is really just about giving LGBTQ-identifying students a place to have their voices heard and to connect with the community,” she said. “It’s a really laid back coffee house-type vibe, and it’s going to be really interesting.”
All students are welcome and encouraged to participate and/or attend. Those who wish to participate in the show must sign up no later than 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
