Kent State University alumnus Dr. Jason E. Shelton will be speaking about his book, “Blacks and Whites in Christian America: How Racial Discrimination Shapes Religious Convicions,” at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Oscar Ritchie Hall.

As an undergrad at Kent State, Shelton served as the president of Black United Students and wrote a column for the Daily Kent Stater.

Shelton is now an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Shelton’s father, Eugene Shelton, is an associate professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The Pan-African Faculty Staff Association and the Department of Sociology will introduce Jason Shelton.
