Tuesday, Kent State announced the 2013 Homecoming Parade grand marshal. For some, this person might be a familiar face.
The Kent State Homecoming Committee chose Charlie Thomas.
You may not know the name Charlie Thomas, but you may know the name Ray’s Place.
Thomas is the owner of the 75-year-old restaurant in downtown Kent, and says he was surprised to receive this honor.
It’s appropriate that he gets recognized this year, being it’s the restaurant’s 75th anniversary.
Plus, a book about the famous restaurant is also being released this summer.
Because of all these things, their slogan will always stand true:
Ray’s is the place.
