KSU first university to host HeartChase race
March 12, 2013
Kent State will host the HeartChase race sponsored by the American Heart Association at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Kent State is the first university to host the national event. Katherine Goldring, student activities coordinator for the Center for Student Involvement, helped put together the event.
“HeartChase is an interactive event where teams use a smartphone app,” Goldring said. “The app loads a map of the Kent State campus onto it where there are eight different locations or checkpoints throughout campus where the team will have to complete a task.”
A cash prize will be awarded to the first place team. Other prizes will be raffled off at the event. All proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.
The event is open to student, faculty, staff and Kent community members. Anyone interested in the event can sign up until the day of the event. To register, visit www.heartchase.org
