BlackBerry unveiled two new phones and an operating system Wednesday at a press event in New York City.

Being the first of its kind for the smartphone company, the BlackBerry Z10 is a completely touchscreen phone. The company hopes the phone’s new operating system, BlackBerry 10, will be what it needs to compete with other companies in the smartphone market.

The BlackBerry Q10 is the company’s other newest creation, which takes the traditional BlackBerry keyboard and combines it with a smaller touchscreen.

Research in Motion, the company that makes BlackBerry phones, also announced at the press event that it’s changing its name to BlackBerry.

BlackBerry hopes to generate buzz surrounding their new products when they run an ad during Super Bowl Sunday.

“[BlackBerry will] make a comeback, I think, but I don’t know to what extent,” said Murali Shanker, professor of management & information systems at Kent State. “So now they’re not only trying to come back, but they have to compete.”
