DEI to host luncheon to celebrate diverse new faculty
February 27, 2013
The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will be hosting a New Hire Diversity Luncheon Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Kent State Student Center Ballroom Balcony.
This luncheon is a networking opportunity for the new KSU African American, Latino American and Native American faculty and staff that were hired between July 1 and Dec. 31 of 2012. The invitation is extended to supervisors as well.
Barbara Johnson, secretary for DEI special projects, said this will be the second luncheon she will be involved with.
“We are excited about it because it gives the new hires a chance to network and meet other faculty and staff and find out what’s going on around Kent,” Johnson said. “We’re going to have resource materials out on the tables also, letting them know what DEI’s involved in and the different events that are upcoming. “
Kimberly Kennedy, interim assistant to the vice president for DEI, noted that they are expecting the largest group of over 60 faculty and staff to attend.
