Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius, who has been accused of fatally shooting his model girlfriend, said on Monday that while he is out on bail he will resume athletic training. He is awaiting trial for the Feb. 14 murder of Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius made headlines during the summer Olympics as the double-amputee runner from South Africa.

Richard Beasley, the Ohio man who allegedly created fake Craigslist job offers in a plot that led to three deaths and the wounding of a fourth man, went on trial Monday for murder. Prosecutors said the motives were robbery and theft.

A U.S. Justice Department attorney charged BP for putting profit ahead of safety and blamed the London-based oil company for the 2010 spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The charges were made Monday in the opening of a trial that could result in BP paying billions of dollars in damages for the incident. Eleven workers were killed when the Deepwater Horizon rig, which was leased by BP, exploded on April 20. More than 172 millions of gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf for the following three months.
Iranian officials on Monday said the film “Argo” is pro-CIA, anti-Iran propaganda. The film was nominated for seven Oscars and won three, including best picture, and is based on the escape of six American hostages from the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979. “Argo” has not been shown in any Iranian theaters. However, many Iranians have seen the film, and bootleg DVD copies are being sold in Tehran for about $1.
