Golden Flashes for Israel prepare for Israel Peace Week

The Golden Flashes for Israel plans to host Israel Peace Week Monday through Friday, as a grassroots initiative to counter anti-Israel propaganda.
The purpose of the week is to show that Israel is willing to make sacrifices for peace. Robert Weitzner, senior sociology major and president of Golden Flashes for Israel, said the events for Israel Peace Week will proceed as follows:
Monday:
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Israel Peace Week crafts and games with prize giveaways
Location: First floor of the Student Center
Tuesday:
8:30 to 10:30 p.m.: Israel Inside Movie Screening with complimentary pizza
Location: 137 Bowman Hall
Wednesday:
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Education about the peace process between Israel and Jordan and Israel games for giveaways and prizes
Location: First floor of the Student Center
6 to 8 p.m.: Israeli and Arabic food tasting
Location: Stopher Hall’s bridge lounge
Thursday:
6 to 8 p.m.: Mock interactive newscast with prizes and giveaways
Location: the Rathskeller
Friday:
1 to 3 p.m.: Community service, more information to be announced
5:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Pending approval: Celebrate Israel Interfaith Shabbat and dinner
