1. U.S. military officials said Tuesday some benefits will be extended to same-sex couples of service members. It’s been 16 months since the Pentagon repealed its ban on openly gay members. As of now, it is unclear what benefits will be extended to gay partners, but discussions have included health and welfare programs, on-base commissary and access to military subsidized stores. However, the 1996 federal law that forbids the government to recognize same-sex marriages, Defense of Marriage Act, has not been repealed.

2. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office asked a judge to revoke Chris Brown’s probation. Their reasoning for the filing includes the lack of proof that the singer completed his community service sentence for beating his girlfriend Rihanna. Prosecutors also state that Brown has displayed anger management issues on several occasions. Brown’s attorney said the accusations are frivolous and defamatory.

3. The British House of Commons passed a bill to legalize gay marriage Tuesday. Prime Minister David Cameron proposed the measure and it passed in the House 400 to 175. The proposals also require the support of the House of Lords before it can become a law. If approved, the bill is said to take effect in 2015 and would allow same-sex couples to get married.

4. Six Spanish tourists were gang raped by a group of masked men in the Mexican resort of Acapulco. The attack lasted for hours early Monday morning at a house that six Spanish men, six women and one Mexican woman all rented. The gang gained access to the house after forcing two of the tourists to open the door. The men were tied up while the women were raped. The Mexican woman was not raped, according to police. Authorities are still looking for suspects. Acapulco was once a famous resort known for its beauty, but now tourists are discouraged from visiting due to the spike in violent crime.
