The numbers are in and Kent State is benefiting from the success of its students. Reporter Michelle Hennon took a look at the numbers and found out how Kent State’s funding increase is stacking up against other in-state universities.
Due to the high retention and graduation rates, Kent State’s main campus will be receiving an unexpected increase in state funding for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.
The plan also includes a 2 percent tuition cap for public universities. It remains unclear whether the increase in state funding will affect the Board of Trustees’ decision made last year to raise tuition 3.5 percent.
