TeleProductions’ broadcasts the Super Bowl for BBC network
January 31, 2013
A team of five from Kent State TeleProductions began their 16-hour journey Wednesday to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans to broadcast for British television network, the BBC.
Last week, TeleProductions signed a contract with BBC, so it could use Kent State’s satellite truck to broadcast the event Sunday, Feb. 3.
“We also see this as an excellent opportunity to promote our outstanding TeleProductions department and staff and the university,” said Jeff Bentley, TeleProductions video production supervisor.
Bentley said he is excited for the major step forward.
Dan LeBeau, senior electronic media major, is included in the team of five. He will help set up the booth and announcer boxes for the BBC announcers.
Before the TeleProductions team left for the Super Bowl, it had to make sure the cameras and microphones were ready, LeBeau said.
TeleProductions is the video production center for Kent State University, which provides media services and video and audio productions.
