The Kent Chorus will “inspire holiday cheer” with its performance at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the University Auditorium at Cartwright Hall.

The Kent Chorus’ seasonal featured pieces will include Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols,” accompanied by Kent State alumna Nancy Paterson on the harp. The Men’s and Women’s Choruses will also take part in the Kent Chorus concert as guest performers.

The Kent Chorus is made up of more than 100 students, faculty, staff, and Kent community members.

“This is a true town and gown group. We’ve got a unique combination of a variety of students, administrators, professors and community members all with an enthusiasm for singing, it’s almost palatal,” said Scott MacPherson, director of choral activities. “The broad range of members that make up the Kent Chorus all bring their own distinct talent to the group, creating an explosive and dynamic performance unlike any other.”

Tickets for the performance are free for Kent State students, $8 for adults, and $5 for seniors and Kent State faculty and staff.

Tickets are available in the performing arts box office of the Roe Green Center weekdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Cartwright Hall box office will open one hour before the performance for tickets.

“I have enjoyed the festive music provided by the Kent Chorus for several years and it is absolutely top notch,” said Maria Bender of Kent. “The wonderful diversity of the group makes the experience that much more enjoyable. This is not your typical Christmas choir. The Kent chorus brings all walks of life together, something we rarely see.”
