Pianist Gives Free Concert Saturday in Honor of College of the Arts’ Accomplishments
October 11, 2012
Pianist Arnaldo Cohen will be performing a free concert at 7:30 p.m. in Cartwright Hall Saturday. The concert is in honor of the Thomas Schroth Visting Artist Series and the college’s acquiring of the All-Steinway designation.
Being an All-Steinway School means the School of Music uses all pianos from the line.
Denise Seachrist, the School of Music director, said 145 institutions around the world acquire the designation.
“Because we are a designated school, it’s evident that we are committed to music education,” Seachrist said. “We raised $2.7 million to achieve this designation.”
The Thomas Schroth Visting Artist Series has presented guest artists in theatre, dance, visual arts and architecture since 2002.
Advance ticket reservations for the concert are recommended. If you are interested, call the performing arts box office at 330-672-2787 or visit www.kent.edu/artscollege.
