Bowling Green professor to talk ancient art at School of Art

Stephanie Langin-Hooper, an assistant professor of ancient art at Bowling Green State University, will speak at noon Friday, September 7, in room 202 of the art building. Her speech is titled “Ancient Art with a Questionable Past: Why it Matters to Art Students.”
According to the School of Art website, Langin-Hooper “will speak on this topic of considerable importance to art historians, collectors, and others with interest in the arts of antiquity and other periods in which works have been removed from original site/contexts.”
The website said Langin-Hooper will survey recent headlines about artwork of questionable provenance and discuss how it impacts the lives of those interested in art.
Also listed on the website are “major recent cases” of questionable provenance.
