The Tuscarawas Philharmonic, accompanied by award-winning fiddler Liz Langford, will play at Kent State Tuscarawas June 9.
Langford, a Dover, Ohio, native, said she is returning to the area from Nashville, Tenn., where she teaches violin at the Franklin Suzuki Academy.
Langford competes in fiddling competitions. In 2007, she was named champion of the Ohio State Fiddle Competition.
The concert is called “Classic Country III: Bringin’ It All Back Home!” It will feature several traditional bluegrass and country songs, including “Country Roads” and “Cowboy Overture.”
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Tuscarawas campus’ Performing Arts Center.
