When students come to college, they are excited to catch a break from their younger siblings, free from sharing their things, or even sharing a room. This weekend, however, little brothers and sisters are invading Kent State.

Sponsored by the Kent Interhall Council, the 33rd Annual Lil Sibs Weekend will bring here them this Friday with a theme of “Dream Big Dreams.”

There are a wide variety of activities and events taking place on campus, including the chance to be part of history. According to the KIC website, the weekend will feature a Guinness-World-Record-Breaking event for the “largest gathering of people dressed up as land mammals” — black squirrels being the land mammal of choice.

Participants will gather at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Centennial Fields wearing black shirts, the website said. Black squirrel masks and tails will be provided.

Along with the world record opportunity, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center will feature “Finding Nemo” as the dive-in movie, a magician, balloon artists, cartoonists, inflatables, rock climbing and much more.

The weekend will conclude with a brunch Sunday for students to share the day with their siblings and parents. They will walk around campus and show their favorite parts and places of the university.
