Undergraduate Student Government recently announced that Third Eye Blind will headline FlashFest 2012.

The band, best known for its songs “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Jumper” and “How It’s Going to Be,” entered the music scene in the early 90s. The Recording Industry Association of America certifies the record “Third Eye Blind,” released in 1997, six-times multi-platinum.

After a six-year hiatus, Third Eye Blind released a new album in 2009 with “Ursa Major.” The album debuted #3 on the Billboard 200, making it the groups highest charting CD, according to billboard.com. It quickly fell off in the second week and spent seven weeks on the chart.

FlashFest will start at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 19 at Manchester Field on campus. FlashFest will include free shows, games, activities, food and prize giveaways. According to Jeff Hammond, USG programming director, more bands will be announced soon.
