Kent State hires new women’s basketball coach
April 17, 2012
Danielle O’Banion, a former assistant women’s basketball coach at the University of Memphis, will take over the Kent State women’s basketball program that was headed by former coach Bob Lindsay for over 20 years.
While at Memphis, O’Banion served as the designated recruiting coordinator. Under her direction, Memphis recruited three nationally ranked teams. These recruits have helped lead the Tigers into the postseason the last three years.
Unlike Lindsay, whose would-be-seniors all transferred before the start of this past season, O’Banion’s recruits stuck with Memphis’ program, graduating 29-straight seniors.
O’Banion will address the media in a press conference tomorrow at 1 p.m. on the first floor of the M.A.C. Center.
