City council decides on Wells-Sherman house
April 4, 2012
Kent City Council decided Wednesday to relegate to city administration a proposal to support the relocation of the historical Wells-Sherman house.
The Wells-Sherman house currently sits in the path of the expected Kent State Esplanade expansion. The house is considered by the Kent Historical Society to be of cultural and historical significance, and is under consideration to be moved to a temporary location, or a permanent location if one can be located. University administration has pledged up to $40,000 for the initial move.
