Greeks to hold charity volleyball tournament Saturday
March 29, 2012
Phi Kappa Tau will be hosting its Sand Wars volleyball tournament Saturday on the sand volleyball courts outside of the Tri-Towers Rotunda.
Chapters are encouraged to put together teams of six to compete in the tournament. Teams can still enter the tournament the day of the event for $40 a team.
Senior marketing major Tommy Grasso said the Greek community is hoping for 20 teams at the event.
All the proceeds will benefit The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. Hole in the Wall is an organization that offers a summer camp experience for terminally ill children and their families.
Because of charitable donations like the one from Phi Kappa Tau, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp estimates that they will serve more than 20,000 children and family members in 2012.
The winning female team and the winning male team will receive trophies to display in their houses.
