KSU students tell their best and worst Valentine’s Day stories

It’s that time of year again. And whether it makes you excited or want to gag, everyone has a story about Valentine’s Day.
Senior biology major Emma Rowland said she loves Valentine’s Day.
“My mom taught me when I was younger it’s about celebrating the people you care about, not just a significant other,” she said.
But some of her classmates have a different outlook on the holiday.
For some people, Valentine’s Day is a made-up holiday used to boost sales at chocolate and flower shops.
Regardless of your viewpoint, it’s a holiday everyone has a personal connection to.
We talked to other Kent State students to see how Valentine’s Day has gone for them in the past and what they plan on doing today.
