The Kent Stage to host ghost walks Oct. 22
October 20, 2011
The Kent Stage is hosting its fourth ghost walk this Saturday night in downtown Kent.
Walks will leave every half hour from Last Exit Books on 124 East Main St. The first walk will depart at 6:30 p.m. and the last leaves at 10:30 p.m. Each walk will accommodate about 25 people and should take about an hour and a half to complete.

Richele Charlton, assistant director at The Kent Stage, says that the walk is basically a family-oriented downtown kind of event.
“We collect stories from people in the downtown area that feel that they have had paranormal experiences,” Charlton said.
There are seven sites throughout the walk: four new sites and three previous favorites. At each site walkers will be told a ghostly story based on true happenings and will be informed about history on each.
Some of the sites include the Kent Stage and Pufferbelly.
University students and Kent residents help to put on the event.

“We have a good crew this year,” Charlton said. “We have a couple of Kent State students that have done drama and some volunteers. The stories will be told and will be entertaining.”
The walk costs $8 for students and $10 for non-students.
Those interested in buying tickets before the event can order them through the box office, which is open from 1-6 p.m. Friday.
“It’s a fun event,” Charlton said. “People usually have a good time, we usually have people return. I think if you haven’t been on the walk you should definitely take a chance and come out.”
