The 16th Annual Kent Heritage Festival began at 10 a.m. following a few hours of scattered thunderstorms. Despite a gloomy forecast, little, if any, rain dropped during festivities.

The festival doesn’t end until 11 p.m., and a fireworks display is planned to start at 10 p.m. at the old RB&W site on Mogodore Road. The best views can be seen from Main Street.
