Ray’s Place to be featured on Food Network Monday
July 3, 2011
Ray’s Place will appear on the Food Network program The Best Thing I Ever Ate Monday at 10 p.m.
In February, camera crews and equipment flooded the Franklin Avenue restaurant to film footage of Ray’s Mo-Fo Burger. Michael Symon chose the burger — with its two buns, two patties, cheese, bacon and mushrooms — as one of his “old school” favorites.
“I was pretty amazed that little old Ray’s Place would be featured on national television,” said Mike D’Alessandro, Ray’s Place day manager, in a February interview.
Symon was born and raised in Cleveland and frequented Ray’s Place while attending classes at Kent State.
Rebecca Roberts, director of photography and producer for The Best Thing I Ever Ate, said it might be the biggest burger ever featured on the show — and the one with the most outlandish name.
In the past, Ray’s Place has been featured in Playboy and on WJW Fox 8 for its extensive beer selection.
