Student talk about new, stricter graduation ceremony policy

Students learned about the stricter rules attached to the graduation ceremonies this August during Wednesday’s Grad Fair.

Summer Kent Stater spoke to a few students at Grad Fair about the new ticket system limiting six guests per-student.

Previously, the University encouraged graduates to invite no more than six guest, but had no ticket system to enforce such a rule. The offices of the Provost and President agreed to establish the ticket system after 73 students lost their seat during the last graduation ceremony this May.

In addition, the University mandated this summer that all graduates who wish to attend graduation must RSVP for the ceremony no later than July 11. Before the summer, University officials allowed
